about the farm

  • It is our goal to create a bio-diverse farm that is a food oasis in northwest Olmsted county. We have engaged a design firm to help us create a permaculture plan for our farm.
  • Planning for Haven Valley Farm began in late 2018. Dianne wanted to start a produce farm and with the support and encouragement of many individuals we began our search and training.
  • Dianne enrolled in the 2019/2020 Farm Beginnings class sponsored by the Land Stewardship Project.
  • Dan Wagner at Coldwell Banker Realty assisted us with our land search and we closed on our land June of 2020. Our grateful thanks goes out to Dan for his patient and knowledgeable support of our goal of finding the right land for us.
  • Suemaya Azadi helps us with all our insurance needs at Farm Bureau. Suemaya has been a big help to navigate the insurance world.
  • Leon Miller owner of Millers Construction has done a great job with the construction of our home.
  • Scott Kunz of Kunz Electric has helped us with all of our power needs and his crew has done excellent work.

About Us

owner and farmer

Dianne enrolled in the Beginning Farmer program in the fall of 2019 and will complete it this year. After an 18 month search for land Dianne is a co-owner with Frances of Haven Valley Farm LLC in NW Olmsted County. Dianne began gardening in her Mom’s backyard after watching The Victory Garden on PBS.

Dianne’s previous career includes business systems selection and implementation; Finance, Insurance, Pensions and for 25 years was the Director of Corporate Real Estate Strategy, Design and Construction.

Dianne was ready for a change and found her new passion in the Farm to Table food movement. Dianne loves spending time with her family and friends, visiting museums, camping and as a licensed pilot participating in aviation.

Frances and Dianne have a daughter, Danielle, who is busy with her career as a nanny.

Frances is the co-owner of Haven Valley Farm LLC. She is currently a Family Nurse Practitioner in Florida but visits the farm regularly and helps out from time to time.

Frances grew up working on melon and tobacco farms. Frances will tell you she bought her first store bought dress with her farmhand earnings. Frances and her siblings jumped from the car as soon as it was stopped to see who could find the first chicken egg.

Frances enjoys being with her family, reading, all things water sports including scuba diving and traveling.
